Been doing Pur's routine for 6 months

    I've been alternating exercises around but it's definitely time to change my routine. I'm looking for both mass and strength. I weigh 165 or so currently and eating around 4k calories with a 45c/30p/25f split. I saw gains for a while, but I've hit a plateau and it's time to eat more and change the routine

    Should I look into a 5x5 program? I checked this out

    but don't think I'm feeling that. Isn't 2 days off overkill?

    Is it possible to come up with my own 5x5 routine utilizing the exercises from purs workout and doing a 3 day split? 1 rest day in between?

    I highly suggest you make your own routine using what you know about weight training to get swole.

    sure you could modify what i have there. Change it to a mon-wed-fri and use compound movements and take alot of the fluff out of mine. Bare in mind, ya your gonna gain but it will be more water and fat this time around. Still alot of muscle will be gained but more strength then muscle.

    or you could just take my routine and drop the reps to 6-8 and force alot of em 2-3 reps. Using more compound as well. Lots of ways to do it

    Okay sounds good. Only thing is, my lifts have been going up consistently. But as for my weight and size etc it's been stale for a few weeks. Hope I don't screw any of that up. And I should stop if I dont see overall improvements in what a month?

    Hate to bug you again but is the whole 10-12 weeks of 5x5 true? Meaning stop after 3 months and go back to a "normal" routine

    Cause if that is the case would a back/bi chest/tri leg/shoulder split be good? Would 5x5 only be on squats,deads,bench? Everything else as 3-4 sets of 10-12, 8-10, 6-8? Or do I implement 5x5 into all of them?

    Then I could go back to the the stickied routine in 3 months again or something. or do westside
