I am in the market for a "beat around" SUV and stumbled upon this add for a 1990 Ford Bronco II.

65,000 miles on a remanufactured engine. New engine installed 3 years ago. It has a valid inspection that expires 2007.

Could someone please tell me what it means to have a "remanufactured engine?" Should I trust this car? Price is $3,000 negotiable. If someone could give me questions to ask the seller about the engine to get more info I would be thankful. Thanks.

reman engine usually means it's a rebuild. You can get em at most auto parts stores and shops... You give em your block as a core, and they give you someone else's core that's been re-built.

On older blocks like that ford a reman is a fine motor. I'd take a reman over the stock block in higher-mileage trucks.
