Did some shooting/shopping, whatever you want to call the process, and I'm pretty set on picking up a Glock 23. The only store I've been to so far is Target Master's in Milpitas since Trader's in San Leandro is no longer licensed to sell firearms. Think I could barter with them a bit?

Besides that, anybody know of any decent place to pick up a new Glock 23?

I'm pretty new to pistols- are there varying models of the 23 that come with different bells and whistles? I believe I've seen some that come with night sights- this is something I'll eventually pick up, so I was just curious.

Thanks, and hopefully I'll be a part of WMD crew in 10-15 days :wavey:

I'll be getting the 9mm conversion barrel as well. If I was going to get a 9mm I'd probably go with a Ruger SR9...maybe...

From what I've seen and heard, 9mm is harder to find in the area than .40...I paid 4 dollars more for a box of 9mm than .40 S&W's

    Reed's is still around? :eek3:

My buddy used to work at the one on Alum Rock in San Jose- they closed down and apparently the building burned down a week ago.

Where are you in the Bay? There's a shop in Cupertino on Stevens Creek, just past De Anza going towards Valco/SJ that had a decent selection when I last went (a couple of years ago).

Just looked it up: Kerley's, 20301, b/w De Anza and Torre

Anybody know how flexible comission-based shops are with pricing?

Target Master's has the Glock 23 for 557 before any taxes and fees- I'm wondering if I could lowball to 600 OTD :mamoru:

My buddy is going with me at the same time to pick up a Glock 22, that might help.

:h5: I'll give them a call. Bay Area Gun Vault told me they'd match the price- unless they can beat it I'd rather drive 10 minutes than half an hour :o

Oh, I'm in Milpitas, right on the border between San Jose and Milpitas.

    Wat

I can't get the certificate from them? And do I have to pick up the GSSF membership? I probably would want to anyway, though. Care to break it all down for me a bit? :x:

You have to register here - http://www.gssfonline.com/

Print out the form, cut a check for $35, and mail everything in. After you get your membership send them an e-mail with your membership number requesting a pistol purchase certificate (you get one per year). They'll process your request and mail you the certificate. Once you have it, drive over to LC Action, show one of the girls working there (they know what to) and you're good to go.

And GSSF purchases. It entitles you to law enforcement pricing. It's how I bought my G19.

Don't know if I want to wait that long to pick up the 23 though :o

I'll be signing up regardless...just a little weirded out by needing to mail something in instead of just doing everything online.

So, law enforcement pricing, but only on items available to the general public, amirite?

Well, the wait is up to you. For me it was worth it to save $100 or more. I had other stuff to shoot in the meantime.

The pricing is good on pretty much any Glock configuration. It'll list all the models and their prices on the certificate.

Yes, for one purchase per membership year.

GSSF has a list of participating dealers. They are all over the US.

You can also redeem it by mail order to one of the participating delears if there isn't one within a certain distance of your home. Though the FFL transfer fees at that point negate much of the savings.
