So I'm nearing the end of my build- well, to get it to shoot. I still have several other parts lined up, but I'd just like for it to be complete for now.

Is there anybody that would like to help me throw this together? I'm mechanically inclined, but I'd feel more comfortable with somebody with experience showing me how to do this before I attempt it. No offense, but first-timers or those with little experience need not apply.

As far as the incentive, I don't really know what to offer, so let me know what you think is reasonable in trade for your time. Thanks guys.

    Build:
    DS Arms Carbine Upper
    Spike's Tactical Lower
Unsure of BCG type- still shopping around for a decently priced one
    Most likely RRA LPK
    Magpul CTR milspec stock kit
    Generic forged charging handle.

More parts will be coming along soon, such as BUIS, optics, mounts, free-float rail system, VFG, etc.

One question I did have- I plan on eliminating the A4 style front sight and replacing it with a folding BUIS- now I'm unsure of whether I should get a longer rail system w/ a low profile gas block, or a carbine length rail system and a gas block w/ picatanny rail. Pics would definetly help if you guys have any. Are there companies with a better pricepoint than Midwest Industries? The rail I'm looking at currently is this one: http://primaryarms.com/product.sc?productId=195&categoryId=102

you going to actually build it yourself and have someone stand by and tell you what to do? because technically someone else can't build it for you

Why not? Installing an LPK isn't construction. You already have the lower, which is the firearm.

I'd be willing to help out. I'm no pro builder, but have assembled three lowers. Having said that, I'll still need to consult the DIY thread over at ar15.com. It's been a while. :o

Yup, more or less I was looking for somebody to walk me through the process. I've seen the EDU on ARFCOM- I have it bookmarked somewhere. Plus, somebody also told me that this process is a whole lot easier for two people somehow.

:h5: When the time draws near I'll make sure to give you a PM. You're from the south bay as well, aren't you? I'd also like to see that lighting setup of yours, as I'm too cheap to buy umbrellas and soft boxes...hell I don't even have an external flash. I miss my D90 :wtc:

True. I'd say I'm less mechanically inclined than most, but didn't have trouble building mine. Even managed not to lose the rear takedown spring.

WOW, that looks almost identical to a build I thought up here on WMD.

Needless to say, I got shit talked from every angle and perspective and told about what a piece of shit it would be.

What's going on WMD? This guy doesnt have to have top-tier shit to have a decent rifle?

Guys, this is only the rifle I'm going to keep in the shower with me, in case I have to battle insurgents while showering- I'm not worried if it rusts.

I have a Noveske rifle decked out in Larue accessories that I sleep next to, with a G22 w/ .50GI conversion mounted below the hand guard as my KISS build.
