anyone beta testing?
I've got a Level 22 national commando
Been testing for a few months now but haven't touched the game for a long time. I stopped playing after everyone started hacking cause DICE didn't want to enable PB yet. It was an alright game, but I'd rather play TF2 if I want to look at those graphics or BF2 if I wanted BF style gameplay.
now they've got pb running, but is is randomly kicking EVERYONE
Doesn't surprise me. That shit happens in every PB game known to man.
Played for a few minutes but didn't really like it.
got my beta-key but never got around to trying it out.
It's a game that seems to have nailed the "Formula of what makes a fun FPS"... or what EA thinks is the formula. But lacking any type of real fun. It has vehicles, guns, different classes, it's own artistic direction... but just missing ANYTHING that separates itself from other games other then that it is free.
It'll probably do well enough since it's free. But anyone with any sort of income will probably want to purchase and play a game that is actually fun.
Seemed kinda cack tbh.
For those of you who have played both, how system intensive would you say this is compared to TF2?
My girlfriend likes TF2 but it doesn't quite run smoothly on her laptop if there is much going on. Might be fun for her if it would run well.
It's a bit smoother than TF2.
Ever since TF2 release, the performance in the game has fallen sharply. I'm not sure if this is due to Valve adding more CPU intensive visuals or if they just aren't optimizing their updates as well as they did the retail game. TF2 is an extremely CPU dependent game (CPU is more important in TF2 than Video Card, RAM, etc).
Really? I noticed the exact opposite... That TF2 has increased in performance on my very old PC in the time it has been out. It's been gradual, they didn't do it all in one patch or anything.
But yeah Heroes runs a lot smoother
I used to regularly get 100+ FPS and now I average 60. Nothing about my computer has changed but a better graphics card. It's widely reported on the Steam forums as well with threads about framerate drops after each update.
might have to reinstall to own you noobs
Weird. I must have got lucky somehow
Mine used to be low FPS and kinda choppy (though still very playable). Now it is still not 100+ FPS or anything, but a hell of a lot smoother.
The biggest thing that dropped my FPS was the multicore update. I have an E6750 (it's dual-core) and before my CPU would only be about 60% on one core, now it takes both cores to 80-90%. Same settings throughout and this is persistent through fresh system installs.
Yeah, almost every tf2 server get's crazy stutters every few minutes (at least for me).
...and I never got that before.
