    EA.com

    Enter code: PAXEAST842

The code works for other games too, but I'm not sure which.

Says i need to download it through EA download manager. I'll see if it installs the game like steam, or if it downloads an installation directory to install by itself.

I've never downloaded any game except through steam, hopefully i can load this into steam so i can use the friends community and whatnot.

I'm pretty sure you can back the game up on a disk, and it's not like your serial code is going to disappear. They just won't let you redownload it. It's not Steam, but it's $30 cheaper.

I got my serial code via email receipt. It never asked me to insert a CD or anything. The only time it asked me for the code was when I logged online for the first time.

Found the code on their web receipt thing, it works. As soon as i put it in and try to install it asks me to insert a disc. Does this if i load from the downloaded files and if i load through the install manager program. Cleared the manager cache out and am trying to redownload it now.

After redownloading the install is working, so i guess thats fine.

Also means that unless i'm missing something there is no way to install this game without going through the download manager, and that means that after one year i won't be able to reinstall. Suck my nuts eA.

I find it really hard to believe that you wouldn't be able to reinstall the game after a year. That would make EA digital distribution almost completely worthless.

Yeah i dunno man. Running the install.exe out of the download folder starts the setup and asks for a serial key. Once you enter the key it asks you to install the BFBC2 cd/dvd on whatever drive you're running the install from. This stumped me.

Copying the downloaded folder back intothe EA download manager and installing through the manager bypasses the need for the serial key (it authenticates through your online account) but it will still ask for the cd/dvd drive.

Only way i got it to work was clearing the manager cache and redownloading and installing directly through the manager. Hopefully i'm wrong and just messed up somewhere.

Actually, you can get the game from ANY source (except Steam) and use the key EA provided. Don't worry one bit about the year download crap. Burn the files, get the torrent, whatever.
