I have a MBP (not unibody, the one before it) and my battery barely lasts me 2 hours now on a full charge. I have apple care with about a year left. I took my mbp in under the first year with battery problems and they gave me a new battery no questions. Does apple care cover a new battery? I leave mine plugged in all the time which is why my battery life sucks :o

you can try it, but they keep records, so they might not give you another one. :dunno:

I had to do this too, so let me know if they'll give you another one. :x:

are you limited as to how many batteries they will give you?

I went in a few months ago and they denied me but I also had forgotten to register my apple care when I bought it but I was able to register it with my receipt a month ago.

I don't think the problem here is the battery, it is the user. Apple *shouldn't* replace another one for you so don't expect them to, but be grateful if they do.

while we're on topic of batteries, is this normal wear?

eh, AppleCare technically only covers a battery for the first 12 months even if you have the full 3 year coverage. This is with every manufacturer out there. And while keeping it plugged in isn't necessarily the best practice (letting the battery discharge once in a while certainly helps the cells) I think you just have a normal worn down battery in this case. Batteries die.

i would say so.....you have a ton of load cycles. Lithium Ion batteries are rated at most for 300 cycles typically (fully discharged to fully charged counts as one cycle).

How much time are you getting off of a full charge now?

you might get a little more time if you follow Apple's calibration technique.

I need to install coconut battery on my laptop and see what it displays. it isn't my main machine, but I do try to let it get down to 10-15% before I plug it in.
