A&P Battery grips on Ebay?

Discussion in 'Lifestyle' started by coughlin's law, Mar 25, 2008.

  1. I'm looking at getting a battery grip for my XT, however I'm thrown off by all the items on ebay. I should be looking for the BG-E3, which retails for $135 yet I see various grips for the XT that don't say Canon entirely... should I get one, will I have any problems?

I had one for my Nikon N-80 back in the day...i was not all that impressed. I never bought a generic camera part again, only OEM. If you can afford it, the quality is much much better.

Get the Opteka for about 80$ It's pretty much as good as CANON's grip besides the name brand. you can use the 50$ for some strobes or something :hs:

I'm gonna third the Opteka. Functions just as the Canon brand would. I believe there's a deal on Amazon where you can order the grip + 2 NB-2LH batteries.

Opteka from Amazon (via adorama). Do it. You will not regret it for a second.

the generic batteries are a hit or miss. I had two that crapped out and then I bought two new ones a month or so before I sold my XT. I talk to the guy though so I'll know if they crap out. at 10 bucks a piece, they can last 6 months and die for all I care. :)
