I need a batch file that i can put in the startup folder that will connect to another machine. I have a login and password i must use to get to all the shares on. I don't really need it to point to anything specific i just need it to login to that machine. \\computername\ username:password.

    Thanks in advance.

Are you just wanting to map a drive on system boot?

You could do that via GPO if you're on XP Pro or Vista...

For the record, if you want to map a folder on the same computer to a drive letter, the command is "subst z: c:\whatever\andever\amen".

  6. or if you map it the gui way you can tell it to reconnect at login, but i guess it would prompt for a user and pass though...
