OK, I'm pretty aggravated. I bought myself an early birthday present today and had a 4 channel Alpine amp installed in my Crown Vic today. I bought a good install kit (Rockford Fosgate 4 ga) and had the folks at Circuit City install it, along with the Infinity Basslink that my wife bought me for Christmas. Well, the Basslink booms in the trunk, but it is barely audible inside the cabin. I will probably have a port cut in the very thick cardboard of the deck, do I need to worry about the length and diameter of the port tube? Also, the gain is currently set very low. So low in fact, the stereo was actually much louder before the amp. I'll futz with that tomorrow, but does that have anything to do with the horrendous alternator whine? I'm also getting a very loud pop in my speakers when I shut down the system or change sources. Did I get a f*cked up install, or did I by a crappy amp? (Alpine V-Power) Help me Mr. Wizard!
