Are there any advantages to learning Bash or Windows PowerShell scripting if you're already familiar with Perl?

in learning it? other than expanding your knowledge, not really.

although it can be argued that bash and powershell are native to the newer platforms and one doesn't need to install perl/activeperl in order to run perl scripts.

bash is easy to pick up.

powershell syntax is just wierd, to me at least.

Thanks, bro. I wasn't sure if MS gave PowerShell some special features/abilities in working with MS software that Perl wasn't capable of.

i am not familiar with powershell, just had to troubleshoot some scripts, but i would assume there's stuff for hyper-v... are they perl hyper-v modules yet?
