Well I finally got to shoot today just for myself so I was looking for stuff that was different or different angles. Im still pretty new to all this and Im not really happy with any of these but Im glad I got a chance to go take some more pictures. I definitely have a lot to learn.

:werd: b&w makes it look like an indoor gravel gymnasium (sic)

That said, I love the ball focus on 12, and the throwing facial expressions (esp #5 :mamoru: )

Did you have a pass? or just wandering around the stands to get different angles? :dunno:

The look flat and gray with no true white or true black. Some of the highlights are blown and in a BW photo it becomes even more distracting. I see no reason for the BW in the first place.

Hmm. Ok. Ill try them differently. I went B/W because the photo was very plain without it.

I work for the school so I can go anywhere I want but today there was someone else covering the game and I had nothing else to do so I went for fun.

That shot has everything to do with timing and nothing to do with a MkIII

No. Its just a guy in a black shirt against a faded red and black background. But thanks for the negativity.

isn't this the 2nd or 3rd time you've captured a pitch in mid flight?

I LOVE that shot. Seems like it would be hard as fuck to get... Details on your process?

Yeah. Its the second time Ive tried it and first time Ive been really happy with it. You just frame the shot the way you want it to be, manually focus it, and time it just right.

You're the one who said it was boring and that you though PP would make it more interesting. I'm not dogging you, and I like your shots. Just not those.

I took it knowing it would probably need a B/W conversion. I guess these just didnt work as well as I thought. npnp. Ill try harder next time. Thanks for the input.

my only critisizm of the b&w's is that the turf looks waaaaaaaay to reflective and shiny in b&w.

The color shots of the turf seem much more toned down, while the converted ones make it look like he's standing in the middle of a crushed glass field....

Not sure what could be done about it, but i'd try some sort of reduced sharpening, really light blur or perhaps just mess with the green channel in your conversion...
