Bas Rutten is the best MMA commentator ever.

I watched DREAM.5 last night that buddy had PVR'd. We kept rewinding and :rofl::rofl: at some of the things he would say.

The replay of that spinning kick was some of the funniest shit ever, he was like a dutch bruce lee.

Plus Kenny Rice is good as well. Mauro has become a walking cliche dispenser, so I now think Bas and Kenny > *.

mir doesn't have too much personality, but the knowledge he spits is good

couture is decent every now and then, although he's not too colorful either

I think Bas and Rogan would be good just because Rogan would feed off of what Bas is saying.

I find him much better than Rogan. When Rogan does commentary, I just go through my checklist of phrases he says, like 'Swinging for the fences' 'Dropping some bombs' and shit like that. :o

Bas has enough personality for a commentating team. Mir does good post fight, he does fantastic technical coverage, and he gets really excited, i think he's great.
but god damn he still comes off so damn smarmy when he's commentating. Like he's the shit and the fighter is a dolt.

I actually get the same impression from Mir. His technical knowledge is great but he always goes into the "oh he has it locked its over he will be tapping any second now" It just comes off a little smarmy to me

Rogan + Bas would never work. It's like in Timecop, two things of the same matter cannot occupy the same space. It would be like weirdness/hilarity overload. They would always be trying to one-up each other on the wtf scale and eventually everybody watching it head's would explode.

So yes it would be awesome, but after everybody's heads exploded we would all regret the decision to pair them up together. Not to mention brain matter just covering all the sports bars of America.
