Do BB shrugs hit the lats as hard as DB shrugs?

I feel I can go heavier with BB's then DB's...just curious if they are as effective.

    Lats?

If you mean traps, then I would say BB shurgs mainly because you are less inclined to use your biceps.

    you mean traps.

just do it in a mirror and make sure you keep your arms straight. easy as that. do whichever you want - change it up. also, if you have a smith machine, do some behind your back, as well.

I actually used the hammer strength incline machine for shrugs today. Standing facing the machine, grab the handles where the angle is and kinda go up and back. It was a brilliant idea of mine

Hang Cleans and widegrip SLDLs work the best for my traps.

i usually switch them up. I Feel i have better control using the BB....but then again, i max out the db's on shrugs, so i have to use BB to go heavier

    Trap bar shrugs?

I actually used to love very heavy smith machine shrugs. I know, I know, fuck a smith machine. But they worked for me. 2-3 reps, real heavy explosive shrugs, about the same weight as my max deadlift.

Pretty impressive routine. How long did you do it? Few weeks? Months?

I've done that routine as well, used to replace back day every 6 weeks or so with that workout. Very tiring, I loved it. I still do the Cuban Press every so often, I used to have a bad shoulder and that did well in strengthening my rotator.

anyone know if the overhead shrugs can be done on the smith machine by sitting on a bench and shrugging it?
