I thought this thread was going to be about your affinity for db's, your fear of barbells, and how your shrink is helping you through this difficult phase of your life.

a complex is more like a workout in itself

its at least two exercises performed sequentially without stopping in between with equal load for each. So one could look like:

    Deads 1x5 -> Cleans 1x5 -> Overhead Presses 1x5 -> Bent over Rows 1x5 -> Front Squats 1x5

Or at least thats how I understand it

i see.. but to use deads/overhead presses in the same 'complex' i guess you'd have to use much lighter weight..

I am not pushing 350+ lbs over my head :hs:

    I did...

    Deadlift x6
    SLDL x6
    Bent-Over Row x6
    Power Clean x6
    Front Squat x6
    Push Press x6
    Back Squat x6
    Good Morning x6

...with the bar 3 times today :eek4:

The front squats killed me bc it was after a 'push-volume' workout day where I had just done 3x15 on front squats.

The weight that you can use to do the complex is the weight that you can use to complete the complex. It's all about trial and error.

I remember hearing Randy Couture saying he usually does his complexes with 50lbs and works his way up to maybe 60. I've done 10x5 with 8 exersizes on 60lbs and it definately kills me.

Ceaze do you think following a complex type routine would be quite catabolic while cutting?
