A friend of mine got a Mossberg silver reserve O/U about 3 months ago. I shot clays for the first time with it and i've put 200 or so shells down it myself so far. It seems to be a really nice gun. I haven't handled many non-pump shottys so I have no other guns to compare it to but the build and feel of this gun are very nice. He told me that it was one of the most inexpensive O/U's that he could find from a reputable company so he got it. I'd recommend it.

IIRC he got his for 470+tax.

Over/unders tend to be expensive as fuck. Expect to pay $400+. If you're a poor college student then just stick with keeping your rifle and your shotgun seperate.

If I were rich I'd buy a couple of H&H's.

Yep, you can find Condors for $300 or less. They are pretty good shotguns but don't expect it to last for decades if you shoot several rounds of sporting clays every weekend. Still, they're decent shotguns and hard to beat for the price, especially if you use it as a backup to another, or a 'friend' gun.

o/u are also considered double barrels bc they have 2 barrels. so lets start calling "double barrels" s/s. shall we?

what are the benefits of O/U or S/S shotguns as apposed to standard pumps or semis? We never used them in my family.

i have a rizzini hombra, after some minor stock mods its treats me well enough...
    <---- pic there

there are some really good quality cheap u/o available you just have to find them... italian made shotguns are usually pretty good, but things like miroku (which are made in the browning factory in ?china?) are a nice gun too...

my only tip is that u try and shoot as many of the guns as possible, to get one that fits to you... you deffinately do not want to have to try and fit urself to the gun...
