I tried on a suit jacket at Banana Republic a few days ago and was really impressed with how it looked on me. Everybody I was with commented on how it looked great. The problem is, the material felt like shit, and i know a BR suit won't last long at all

is there a suit manufacturer out there that makes a modern casual cut similar to BR?

I want a Boss suit, but can't justify the cost since I never have to wear suits :sad2:

I bought a nice BR tie today though :hsd:

Can anyone attest to the quality of BR shirts and sweaters? Looking to put together a new, casual outfit.

Chinos, [button up] Shirt, Sweater (vest perhaps).

Now I might need new shoes too. hmmm.

a pea coat from BR many years ago was made in Italy. A few years ago, it was made in Turkey. Now they're made in China

BR usually has really high quality sweaters. You could do better for the price on the dress shirts, though. Go for Jos A Bank or Thomas Pink

I recently bought "the big black book" from esquire, and there is some good info for people like me that dont know the proper way to buy or look for a suit.

    thanks for the link.

edit: seems more trendy, or modern vs classic. are there any recommendations for a classic fitting suit? and I aint talking about, "you're gonna love the way you look, I guarantee it!" I hate baggy or american dept store fits. no more.
