    what do you use? i can't decide whether or not i want to get a ball head or a pan and tilt. i know i'm probably going to get the bogen 3021bn or 3021bpro legs. not sure on those yet either.

    both, but personally i like having seperate movement controls

    I have one with pan and tilt.... but would prefer ball.

    i think its really dependant on what u shoot. if u are doing sports photography or anything w/ lots of motion, a ball head is ideal. if the majority of your work is in a studio or for say long exposures, tilt and pan would prob be a better choice.

    point being, there is no "better" option, choose depending on what your needs are
