bad to do deadlifts the day after some other back exercises?

it's pretty common that I'll do rows and pullups as assistance exercsies for my military press workout and then the next day I'll end up doing heavy deadlifts.... I'm never too sore/weak to complete the deads but I'm wondering if it's really that bad for recovery to be dong back two days in a row like that.

    :ugh:

I don't see a problem with it as long as you are recovering enough. How has your progress been?

progress has been amazing on deadlifts with the last 2 cycles of 5-3-1.. max went from 385 x 2 to 395 x 6 in two months

my rows and pullups haven't gone anywhere but I'm not training them too hard.

no need to think anything beyond that - if you're progressing, just keep doing it, change nothing

I've done it on occasion. I would usually avoid heavy bb rows the day before though if I were going to.

back can take a shit load of volume, not to mention seated rows etc shouldn't be taxing the same muscles that perform the deadlift anyway. Fuck I do pullups almost every gym day.

    I can agree with this.

It never bothered me the several occasions I've done deads after high and low volume back day.

Personally, I have never liked to do it. You are the best judge of how well you recover ya know? I feel weak and shitty when I try to do shit like that.

    I don't have a back day :noes: MP, DL, B, S

for military press and bench days I do both push and pull exercises for upper body, but for squat days I mostly focus on quad stuff and deadlift day is mostly posterior chain stuff.
