I got a tattoo 10 days ago and I'm starting to wonder if it was done badly. It's just some text on my inner left wrist. I've been putting A&D oinment and hand lotion on it religiously since it was done. Washing it twice a day with white soap.

Right now it looks pretty dry around the edges-- looks like there's a white outline around each letter-- dry skin. You can see all the lines in my skin really vividly. It already peeled once but looks like there's a full layer that needs to peel off still. Still a little shiney.

I have a tattoo on my inner right wrist and it never looked like this while healing.

I posted this right after I showered and put some lotion on it right after. So it looks good right now. Next time it looks bad I'll take a pic.

They were done at different places. I'm hoping it's just dry and not fully healed yet. Really hoping it's not scarring. :x:

if there's whiteness around it, i'd go see a doctor and ask for some antibiotics.
might not be, but from you're talking about, probably an infection

:hsugh: the whiteness around it is more than likely dry skin. It's what happens when you get a tattoo.

ya but if he's putting on as much oitment as he says, it should be moist and not looking dry.
i've dealt with a few infections and there was white scabbing on all of them
i'd get it checked to be safe

It has gotten a lot better. Since it's pretty much healed I scrubbed it in the shower and it looks good now. I guess it was just dry skin that needed to come off.

Can no one read anymore?? WTF? IT'S HEALED! All his scabs are gone. Therefore scrubbing it won't have any affect on it at all. All he had was dry skin around the outside of the tattoo.

I've gotten tons of dry skin after a tattoo.

I use palmers cocoa butter on all of my tattoos though so it takes care of whatever dry skin I get.

    Thank you. :)

Yeah, it was two weeks old and I had whiteness inside and around the tattoo. Scrumbing in the shower cleared up the dry skin. I've never had a tattoo do that before so that's why I was worried.

your skin/body and how they react to tattoo's/piercings changes all the time, things wont always heal the same way ;)
