I'd like to make back-up copies of my dvd collection. What program should use to do his? Even though I only plan to make copies for my own use in case a dvd is damaged, I know its difficult to break the css encryption. Where should I go find this software?

    thanks

last i heard dvd x got popped for including the ripper. I've been using 123copydvd, google it, you'll find it. you click the update button onsite and get the ripper plug-in from off-shore, interesting. works fine for me.

DVD Shrink. Freeware. Works. 'nuff said.

It's what I am using to build my media server. Ripping all my collection to ISO's and mounting them with Daemon Tools.

Are you shrinking them although you're not burning? If so you should just use DVDdecrypter

Actually, I'm not shrinking them much. Removing foreign sound tracks, some dumb special features, subtitles, etc. Other than that, I just use deep analyze and the default settings in DVD Shrink.
