For UFC 64??
well franklin signed a long term deal well before he was champ and has been getting paid that same for all his fights.
Bust out some numbers.
* Anderson Silva: $50,000
* Sean Sherk: $22,000
* Rich Franklin: $21,000
* Kenny Florian: $8,000
* Cheick Kongo: $20,000
* Jon Fitch: $20,000
* Spencer Fisher: $20,000
* Kuniyoshi Hironaka: $6,000
* Carmelo Marrero: $6,000
* Dan Lauzon: $3,000
* Yushin Okami: $12,000
* Clay Guida: $6,000
* Kalib Starnes: $5,000
* Kurt Pellegrino: $4,000
* Junior Assuncao: $3,000
* Justin James: $3,000
don't know how accurate they are. Just the first list I found when I googled it.
Still though, given his reputation, the fact that he's been champ for how long now? You'd think he'd get more money coming into the fight even if he lost.
has bad as his contract was, ufc still got him big endorsment deals to make up for the lack of fight pay.
I wouldn't worry about it...he's down, he's definately not out
UFC pays their fighters so little. Jesus
franklins contract was old which is why the numbers are so low. sherk also got his win bonus which is why he made that much.
Werd... I'd be ticked off at the UFC if I were Franklin... Maybe he should look to jumping to PRIDE?? I'm sure they'd pay him right, and it might help their presense here in the US...
you cant really be mad when you sign the contract. Had he came in and done nothing he would be making pretty good money for a mid level guy, nobody not even franklin expected to be champ that quick. Franklin in pride would be a disaster his stock would go down after lots of losses.
Yeah I don't know if he really warranted a 7 fight contract when they signed him.
The money wasn't too great, but as was said, without the UFC selling him hard he wouldn't have had the big Xyience deals.
