I might just be going through a busy time right now but I'm finding I have no time to get to the gym. My homework is taking up all my free time and it sucks! I made great gains over the summer going 5-6 days/week and right now I'm lucky if I can get there 1-2 times/week. Anyone else in this boat? How have you got around it? Anything I can do at home so as not to lose what I've gained?

    :(

Full time student and part time job. Get up early or go late night. I can still make it 4 times a week. I'm sure you can do it too.

I make time. 1 day on the weekday and both weekend days. It all depends on if you want it badly enough.

work 20 hours a week, taking 12 units.

I just don't sleep enough and wait till the last minute to do my HW. usually that keeps my schedule free enough to lift 4 times a week :o

I use to work 40-50hrs per week and take 12-15 units, still managed to hit the gym 4 times a week. Quit your excuses and bitching

I'm takin 15 units on the quarter system, work 1 day a week and manage 4+ days a week (behind on readings, but oh well).

Ask yourself what the evil Russian would do in your situation. Not trying to be rude, but I recall an old post about Pavel saying something about how ruskies take work out breaks instead of coffee breaks.

IMO buy some tubing and bands, expandable weight set if you can afford it (s'what I'm saving for) and break every 5 pages or so. Helps get through boring reading (like economic development)!

Good luck with the new school year and fewer trips to the gym

Manage your time better and do your work for the afternoons and evenings after class, get to sleep by 11-11:30, go to the gym at 7am. Stop making excuses. You could be triple majoring at CalTech with a part time job and you'd still have time for an hour in the gym 4-5 days a week.

    I'm with you.
By the end of the day I'm dead. :(

Get someone to work out with you... that really pushes me and keeps me going.

I got one of my roommates to run with me now in our apartment complex.
And when I need weights and cardio machines, I go to the gym with another work out buddy :)

I guess it really is about time management and where my priorities are. My homework's sorta piled up on me lately and with assignments, it's just been unusually busy. Hopefully that'll clear up a bit. I think if I set a time, say between 5 and 7 each night, to go to the gym, five hours a night to do homework should be plenty to keep up with everything. Thanks for berating me, F&N. :)

Just do it dude, seriously. Sometimes you go a couple days where you just do homework go to class, lift and sleep. It sucks but hell it will pay off some day.

Skipping class is not my forte. I am very serious about school.

Haha, fair enough. I want to keep my marks high in case I decide to go to grad school. I can't afford to skip class, especially my fourth year classes.

You have time. I get up at 4:30am and lift at 5am so I can't make an excuse from being tired from my full time job in the evenings.

Well...you could try still getting up at 7:30 on Mon and Wednesday, and add Saturday and there's 3 days per week.
