I cant figure this shit out for the life of me. Ive read a few tutorials on wikipedia on how to do it, but they never work.

I just updated a Azureus to with all the latest plugins, and it says I still have NAT problems and wont download all the time despite there being available seeds.

Is there a port that commonly works or do i have to keep trying numbers at random? Im on a college network, running windows xp sp2, mcafee antivirus if that helps.

    Any help for an idiot?

Do you have a global IP? Are you running through a proxy server? Does your college offer a socks-proxy server?

Perhaps your college is filtering all incoming ports to your ip address? With your torrent client running, you should be able to telnet to your ip address on the port you specified from another machine on the internet. You could try running your torrent client on a common port such as 80, 443, 21, or 22.
