I purchased a macbook yesterday and love it so far. However I have not been able to figure out how to get my torrents to seed. I am using a azureus through a link sys wireless router. Has anyone done the port forwarding before on a mac? And if so would you mind giving a newb some help? any help is appreciated thanks!

    1) try using transmission instead of azureus
    2) port forwarding has everything to do with your router, not your computer

    .

except azureus should work fine, many like it over transmission. Follow instructions on www.portforward.com. If you aren't forwarding those ports correctly, transmission won't seed well either.

The problem could be that even though you may have had your ports forwarded properly to work with your PC's torrent client, Azureus may be trying to use different ports (which haven't been forwarded yet). I personally use uTorrent (which is installed on my desktop PC) and control it remotely from my mbp either through vnc or with uTorrent's webui interface. I can't say much for transmission but I hear it's good. Azureus, although it has many features, is a resource hog. I'm sure after you forward the proper ports it'll work fine though :hs:
