Don't get a house with a swamp cooler.

The heat in Tuscon will be constantly ridiculous, the afternoon is the hottest.

When you are driving on I10, and pass through Las Cruces, take a look around. That is where I live. You will appreciate Tuscon more.

we have a swamp cooler for the garage lol. It's only baking hot for a little while though, once it's the end of september/beginning of october the heat backs off a lil ways. more so down in the tucson area.

I was at D-M for almost 4 years... March '03 - November '06. Nice base I think you will like it. Also if you live out that far the drive blows to work since everyone is on the road going the same way. I can't stand a trip to work that is more then 15 minutes.

I wouldnt buy if I were you until you get here and actually check out the area first. Alot of things look great on paper/internet and are complete shit in real life, especially Tucson homes.

lol Kelly is awesome man. We got a flat in her car while looking at homes, I changed it and she gave me 100 bucks. When I closed she gave me a 250 dollar home depot gift card.

I would get to the area first too, drive there in trafic to see how it is. South Tucson is quite ghetto though the area you will be is ok. You are near nothing though besides the things they built down there. If you like to go out at all you are quite far from everything as well as most shopping.
