Aww, hell yeah v. first goal

    I've been following the 'Couch to 5k Running Plan', and tonight I completed the first workout of week 9. I've finally run 3 miles straight. Sure, it took me 35 minutes, but I did it, damnit. 8 weeks ago I couldn't even run a block without getting winded.

    At the start of every run, I had doubt, or something small would bother me. My foot wouldn't feel right, or I would think a muscle would start to cramp. But I just kept putting one foot in front of the other. Telling myself I'd come this far, failure was not an option. And every time, I would complete the run.

    I haven't posted much on the board, but I've certainly been reading the threads. Thank you all so much for your knowledge. From nutritional information to progress threads for inspiration, it has all been a great help to me along the way.

    I run outside. Sometimes I run on grass in the park, but mostly I'm running on sidewalk. I've been running in an old pair of Vans. Terrible shoes. I definitely need to pick up some running shoes.
