Picking up a harmonica soon, looking for some inspiration.
Cool shit yo
Another one you'll like. Easy favorite for me.
I'm really digging The River by Bruce Springsteen
I was trying to find some old Tenderloin tunes and got a pretty cool mix on lastfm
basically all Bob Dylan songs
Sonny Terry is timelessly awesome. Watch all these vids.
James Cotton with Muddy Waters is . That man can play the harp
I will second this
All or almost all of their songs have great harmonica. I like Blues Traveler a lot! Here are some of my very favorites:
"Get folks on"
These other favorites of mine had the embedding disabled by request:
"The mountains win again"
"Most precarious" which is like a good Jimmy Buffet song
"Oh mama, can this really be the end?"
my personal favorite in about 2:50 seconds into what would you say by Dave Matthews.. its after a kick ass sax solo too
Dylan's "Like a rolling stone" has just a few notes on the harmonica
until the song closes with it at the end. Also at the end of the song,
the camera interestingly follows the band out through the back of
the auditorium into the car.
Dylan was so loaded during that performance
I just found this harmonica song that should definitely be here.
Old McDonald had a farm...
...ee-yah, ee-yah, yo!
Cream - Traintime
so you like playing the mouth organ...
Neil young has quite a few songs with harmonica's
Heart of Gold is a good place to start
If you're just picking up harmonica, look up a dude called Jason Ricci on youtube. Learned alot from his tutorial vids.
And also, get into Canned Heat. Alan Wilson is AMAZING:
