Copying from another forum. I probably left some shit out because I have a shitty memory but I soaked in as much as I can. I still don't know jack shit but I know more than I did 3 days ago so I feel pretty good about that.

Just curious. What were his opinions on magazine extensions on fighting shotguns? Everyone in the photos has them except for him.

He was running a fake gun. He didn't really give an opinion other than pick what works for you. Personally, I may add one but I'll be adding a light before I add a longer tube.

    I'm jealous :big grin:

Thats a good write up, whats your overall summary? Anything that surprised you, anything that you really liked, really hated, etc.

    So answer me this:

Do you wish you would have bought another gun or some cool widget with the money instead of taking your first class?

    Fuck no.

The only thing I could have bought to make my life easier was a light on the gun. But having to work the slide with a hand held light just opened my eyes to the near impossibility.

yes, the fatass is me :o

the guy with the camo hat was the target. task was headshot with a slug without hitting, or even grazing, the guy behind him. target and "bystander" were moving.

    then it got more interesting...

2 man team moving, targets moving, had to hit the camo hat guy without hitting any of the 3 behind him. same guy as before was moving, 2 bystanders with hats were stationary.

I'm not sure if I'm surprised more of what a shotgun can do or can't do. I didn't really expect to be able to hit an 8" plate at 50yd with a slug but I did. I also learned that pattern size is everything and you must know the pattern of your gun with your ammo at different distances to determine whether or not you should make a shot if there are bystanders. Also learned the benefits (and lacks thereof) of selecting a slug for certain shots. There is more shit I learned but my memory keeps me from putting it down on paper.

Now, are you going to buy more guns or take more classes?

well, i MIGHT buy another 870 just so i can have a dedicated hd rifle and a dedicated hunting rifle instead of having to switch parts back and forth but for the most part more classes are definitely in my future.

only thing i remember off of the top of my head were a 1911 breaking during the pistol transition on the 3rd day and one guy's 20ga Rem. 1100, bolt handle broke/fell off and the front mag cap sling swivel nut backed out so that fell off. he just had bum luck though since those were both factory parts. i dont remember anything else but ill ask another guy and see if he recalls.

Not enough money for both. More guns will always keep you safer. My uncle taught me to shoot when I was a kid and so I know what I'm doing. Training is just a chance to dress up and look tacticool.

luckily we only had one gun that was tacticool and he changed the stock after he realized the comb was too high to get a cheek weld. i don't remember what manufacturer it was though :o

ok.. not nearly as bad as the other big boy.

was just going to say that you're getting awesome tactics and such but your biggest enemy is from within. literally.

but I'm in the military and they drill that shit into us. so I suppose I'm brainwashed
