i used quicktime pro for a while but I found with my Family Guy conversions, there was a ton of artifacts.
I installed iSquint a few days ago and it works perfectly. Can convert to iPod or Apple TV.

Because I'm a software dev myself. I buy the DVDs of the AVI's I download, but usually don't want to wait until they are released. TV, I pay for a subscription to my cable company, why does it matter when/where I watch my TV. Music, well, I've lost all faith in that and went indy for a lot of bands/music.

I tried handbrake but it would play only want to work with a DVD source. :/
