No one's made a thread about this great show? It has storyline, romance, action, good animation, comedy, good english voice actors, and conflicted characters. I think it needs a thread of its own :) It may be semi-anime and intended for kids but I think it can stand up with the rest of the shows on today.

I just watched the newest episode The Western Air Temple (I think came out today?) at http://www.avatar-manga.com/watch-avatar/ I haven't watched Books 1 or 2 yet, I just started on 3 but I've been watching on Fridays.

Indeed it is. So technically it's not anime but it has anime influences. Seriously, I think if anyone gives it a shot and looks past the Nickelodeon sign they'll really enjoy the series.

From wiki:While Avatar is not considered an anime because of its American origin, one review has commented that "Avatar blurs the line between anime and (US) domestic cartoons until it becomes irrelevant."[37] In addition, Avatar has many features of anime such as having a different color palette from other animated shows.

Avatar also draws inspiration from the anime works of Shinichiro Watanabe's Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, as well as FLCL (Fooly Cooly) of Gainax. Other various studios from which inspiration was drawn include Studio 4°C, Production I.G, and Studio Ghibli.[41] Avatar director Giancarlo Volpe also claims the staff "were all ordered to buy Fooly Cooly and watch every single episode of it."

I've always found the series intriguing, but I'm hesitant to start another never end shounen series, particularly one that doesn't have much pedigree.

That's not an insult because Jack was good. That also doesn't mean that Bender is bad.

Im 21 and the only 'toons' i watch are the funny ones; Futurama, Family Guy, Simpsons, etc. I watch some Seinen anime, but no Naruto style mythical shit. I feel that I grew out of that DBZ style shit a while back. Maybe when i was 14.

Anywho, I have over 3+ friends in my agegroup that watch this show religiously. I really don't know what to make of it. :ugh2:

Is it something I should watch...?

You have a lot of people responding positively to it, in this thread. What's the harm? 30 minutes wasted if you hate it?

Dot. Depends on your taste in shows. You might hate it, you might like it. You said you like to watch comedy and this has funny parts in each episode but it's more plot oriented than a pure comedy. One thing it's not is DBZ style shit, which I hate as well. Almost every show progresses the plot and there's no useless powering up.

    btw, I'm 22

You either really hate this show for some reason or are just trolling.
