What is the best type of lens to use when taking photos indoors at an autoshow? Im thinking about going to detroit in january and would like to make sure I get decent pics.

  2. 16-35 f/2.8L FTW :coold:

10-22 if you don't mind the distortion and want to get some wide shots of car interiors and stuff.

100mm macro would be pretty sweet for some engine shots.

If he's not shooting FF, 17-55 IS > 16-35. More range and IS to boot.

    edit: What camera?

any mid range lens and iso 400-800 works just fine

  5. car show = bazillion people walking infront of your shot, anything in the 40mm-55mm range will be worthless. :hsugh:

:ugh: Yes, because between 16-35 mm, NO ONE will walk in front of you. amirite?

  7. Quit acting like a dumbass. :ugh:

Thread poster asked for "THE BEST" lens for shooting an indoor car show.

Derrict is the Car Show "Pro" around here, ask him if he prefers the 17-55 to the 16-35. :slap:

    And read my post again....

I SAID ANYTHING IN THE 40MM-55MM FOCAL RANGE IS WORTHLESS AT INDOOR CAR SHOWS....... So you saying that the 17-55 is better because it has more reach is the dumbest thing I've heard. Also not to mention the 16-35 has teh mad tyte pinky ring L powarz that makes all the pics leet yo! :run:

Sigh.....do we need to go through this again Pete?

  9. you started it.

    16-35 f/2.8L > 17-55 f/2.8 IS for indoor car shows

You can talk shit on my opinion if you want but anyone with a brain will agree with me.

IS will not help in low light? More focal range is useless?

    :hsugh:

yea, Im a Noob, but this shit is rediculious. The best lenses for a car show are the ones you were born with. If your composition sucks, who gives a damn what lens you have on your camera?

  19. So one guy's review of 3 lenses makes his opinion fact? :ugh:

As I said many times before (more focal range is not necessary at indoor car shows). IS is nice to have definately not knocking it.

  20. oh shit nice ninja edit!!

Go look at any lens review site.

    17-55 > 16-35

Grow up Pete. You get proved wrong time and time again, then resort to personal attacks. When will you ever learn?

  25. Look at post #3 and #6

    Who started the arguement?
