Is it possible to set up an Automator work flow to do the following:

When I click on a .torrent file (say on TorrentSpy or something), to have the file automatically download into a specific folder, then have Transmission (my torrent client) open that file and start the dl to a different folder?

    Anyone? :x:

The apps have to be Automator aware, so you can set options like directories on the fly. If they are, you should be able to.

What I am saying is that the application (Bittorrent) has to have Automator features built in, so you can control the application from Automator. If the application doesn't have those features, it cannot be controlled too easy.

Azureus has this as a feature. It grabs my torrents off my desktop, moves them, starts downloading to DL directory.

yes. as long as azureus is running you can set it to watch a certain folder and then begin downloading once a new .torrent file appears in that folder

To be a bit more specific, the application needs to support Applescript scripting (I think) :)
