I keep my iTunes library pretty organized, so I don't like adding random stuff to my library until I make sure it's complete, good quality, etc. Anyone know of a small, fast program that I could use for quick plays of audio files? Something like WinAmp but obviously for OS X.

You just want to preview the song without adding it to itunes, correct?

Open up finder, select column view (it's the button to the left of the cogwheel at the top of finder), find the file you want to and select it with only a single click. A preview player bar shows up in the new column to play/pause/scan/etc.

Or just play it in iTunes and delete it if you don't like it.

Isn't hitting delete alot easier than using a separate program to check files? :dunno:

Not really. It's easier to double click a file to play it, listen, then close the program instead of taking the extra steps to delete it if you don't want it there.

    Just easier to me.

Finder is the fastest, most hassle-free way to play it. doesn't require a program and you have to navigate to the file anyways...:dunno:

seriously, what a convoluted cluster fuck. i hope he realizes you can set itunes to delete the file itself once you delete it from the playlist.

You are dumb. You already have another program to play this stuff. All you have to do is open it with Quicktime. It is exactly what you wanted. No delete key necessary. You are a retard.

    chill out.

OP, Use finder to preview the song first, if you like it, double click the song to add it to itunes, if you dont like the song, send it to the trash.
