i had a customer in the shop one time, watching me do his install... i was done with everything, but loading the last woofer in the box and putting the box in the truck... and he ask me " so how many times have you run a screw through a speaker???" and my reply was "i never have, i use this collar on my screw gun that holds the scr..." then it happened, i destroyed my perfect record.

    HA! Classic...

The first woofer I ever installed in a box, when I was about 15...almost 16 years old I put a screw straight through the cone... I was so pissed...

Took it back to HH Gregg and said I opened the box and it was like that... haha...

    :(

I popped a Kappa Perfect 12.1 so bad the coil put a 3/4 or 1" deep dent in the (aluminum) dust cap  ..but thats what happens when you slam subsonics at double RMS for too long :hs:

I had a nice Chevelle SS in one day, just wanted me to replace his headunit and dash speakers. The speakers were amplified, but he didn't know why the amp wasn't working, as the previous owner had put that in. Luckily it only took me a couple minutes to figure out that the amp 12v lead was connected to the negative terminal on his battery. He had a good chuckle with that one.

one time while doing an install in a semi, i was havingg to cut some screws down to fit. i had just got a new pair of cutters, from the snap-on guy the day before. as i was cutting the last screw, it was giving me troubles. so i went for a better grip... 5 seconds later, the only thing keeping me from losing the tip of my finger totally... was i hit bone. so i wrapped my finger tip in a paper towel with electric tape, and finished the install. i with home and took off the "bandage", to clean my wound. i had cut through the finger nail on one side, and to the bone on the other.

then get out of "i'm better than everyone, i'm a car audio god, i'm always right, my dick is bigger than your's" mode... show us you're human and make mistakes like the rest of us... we're not going to think any less of you, because of your mistakes... we've all had flub-ups... hell we might even think better of you afterwards... or you can take the easy way out, and just tell us about things you've seen... it don't matter, as long as you expirenced it.

I'M NOT DOING THAT...IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD...

I already replied in this thread earlier.

My first set of subwoofers ever I put a screw straight through the damn cone.

One time I almost blew a sub when I put one MTX1501d on each VC... I level matched them correctly.. but I had one amp a 0 Degrees and one am pat 180degrees on the phase. Played it like that ful tilt for like a full minute wondering why it wasn't loud!!! Ha ha, then thank god I realized it and flipped both switches to 0degrees... before the sub blew... hahaha...

    I'll post more when I remember... ;)

i remember the 1st time i had to pull the pick tool out of my finger.......with pliers. OUCH!

was going to carpet a box one day, placed the blade (i use single edge straight razors) on the carpet a gave some mighty pressure. i was curious why the carpet didn't cut, until i looked at the razor that was buried up to the hole in my finger!!!!! I turned slightly white, and got out the trusty pliers.....

i know that feeling. i got to the point where i would place the spkr, then using a center punch, I would mark the holes and drill a small hole, then put a screw in. of course, that was on the higher end stuff or usually any comp set that i did. coax's didn't matter. :mamoru:

that's not an audio blooper, especially if you had on ear protection, which I'm sure the owner made you do if he was watching you.
