they didn't charge enough for visualhub. i got mine for free because i completed some stupid online surveys, it's legit too because my serial is registered to my email address and the company emailed me directly etc

i'm pretty sure version 1.33 is the final version. i love how you can convert an mkv into a dvd on the fly.

only problem i ever ran into, was trying to convert a couple of bin/cues to xvids

I think 1.34 is the final, I'll find out when I get home. I did finally find it on MSJ.

So sad. Great set of programs.

This is very sad. I use VisualHub all the time. Works great. Does anyone have an alternative as good as VisualHub? I've used Handbreak, but still think VH is better.

Have you taken a look at the source code. I didn't even know you could create a program entirely from applescript, it seems like a pretty inefficient way to do it.

    VisualHub link is 1.34.1
AudialHub is 1.3 but I think it is not working probably. Refer to my original post.

In order to preserve VisualHub (or AudialHub) if you need to switch computers, you need to back up two things:

1: The VisualHub (or AudialHub) app itself
    2: The conversion engine

To back up the conversion engine, Copy the folder at: /Library/Application Support/Techspansion

...for good measure, you can also back up your Preferences file, containing your registration info in case you lose the original purchase e-mail. It's at:
    /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.techspansion.visualhub.plist
    ...or for AudialHub:
    /Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.techspansion.audialhub.plist

As far as I can tell, the two programs will continue to work in Snow Leopard, but I obviously can't predict the future or what Apple will do in it, though.

Thanks for enjoying Techspansion's software. It's been an amazing journey, and I'm sorry I won't be making it with you anymore.

I used VisualHub for my .mkv to .wmv and it was great. After I picked up my popcorn hour I never used it anymore. What do you guys use it for?

I like it alot. It plays my .mkvs straight. No converting them over. I have a small hard drive in it but right now I am streaming from my iMac to my Popcorn hour wirelessly to play my movies. There is some way to set up and download torrents in the PH its self but I don't know how yet.

My only complaint is that you can't skip chapters as of yet (and fast forward is slow 8x). But they are always updating it.

How the hell do you install AudialHub now? It wants to download the stuff that can't be bundled with it, but since it's been discontinued it can't download them. :wtc:

Anyone have a replacement for AudialHub?
