Anyone know a method to test a suspected failure of an ATX power supply? I know there is something you can do with a multi-meter and a piece of wire, but I dont remember how to do it. Anyone know? Thanks.

If you do a lot of work with power supplies, I highly recommend picking up an antec psu tester.

They will create a load, and let you test the 3,5 and 12v lines with a volt meter.

I don't do enough with PSU's to make a purchase worthwhile, but good to know that such a thing exists

And, wow, this is a very Canadian thread :wavey:
