im not hating but all these macro threads made me buy a 100mm macro off ebay. 110293421612
(that one has better reviews than the tamron)
sure was cheaper than a new one, but as always its a game of chance.
ill try it with kodak ultra color

Depends on the subject, location, intent, etc. One light isn't going to give you all the options you need. In my examples, there are four different lighting setups. The shots of the camera were lit with video lights, the first shot of the ring was lit one strobe thru a softbox. The next shot was lit with two strobes bouncing off of white cards and the shot the dandelion was lit with late afternoon light.

No, it's not junk. I was simply pointing out that there are several different ways to light macro shots. While this light will do a great job, don't be afraid to experiment with other setups too. You don't want all your shots to have the same look.

oh my ive been playing with this new 100 macro
you guys arent kidding about no depth of feild. i have to keep using the DOF preview button! not easy to handhold indoors, makes me want some lighting. but outside its in its element.
there was a bit of focus hunting, as always grrr

it came with no lens cap, so in honour of the Tamron 90 i bought a tamron cap.
will post pics on thurs. i pick up the film on wed.
i took 2 36 image rolls just trying it out

pics are on Kodak ultra color 100 -a mistake its too slow to stop doen for good depth of feild
all i did was resize. no unsharp mask was needed

i think a ring flash is in order.

    anyway what do you think?

in honor of the Tamron i bought a cap. (ebay seller used a filter instead, why would you need a filter for macro????)
