how long does it take you for each session/workout?

I did day #2 last night and it only took me a little over 1/2 hour. That seems too quick to me.

Day 2 is a lighter day. It takes me @ 45 minutes, but I take @ 2 minute breaks between sets. I use the rest of the hour to do some abs/hypers/etc...

Days 1 and 3 are about an hour or hour 15, depending on the breaks, which can go from 2-3 minutes during heavy sets...

It takes you 3 minutes to get ready for another set. :eek3: I usually force myself to sit there for a full minute. I guess I need some more weight on the bar.

My days usually all take ~1hr.

about an hour for each day. And usually day #2 is the hardest day for me & i dread it.

    1. because i usually do it on a wednesday & i find it hard to eat enough on the two days prior (workdays! ). So my energy is low.

    2. I do more than i have to. It says light squats 4x8... i probably use heavier weight than i should. I do 2 styles of shoulder press (3-4sets standing barbell & 3-4 sets seated dumbell). Plus i also do 4 sets of dips.

that's another thing, i'm wondering if i can add extra exercises to areas I feel are lacking (shoulders, traps, triceps) or will it hurt me overall?

I take about 50 minutes and on day 2 after I've done my pullups and dips I'm wasted and never want to put anything else in. I guess you could if you wanted to but maybe you should just lift heavier on everything else if its too easy.

Wednesday is a good day to add hypers, abs, or any accessory exercises, since it is a lighter day.... YOu know your body better than us, so do what feels right...

Do you mean that over the course of some weeks, the 3-minute resters were stronger overall? 'Cause if you're talking about them finishing better during the single workout, obviously they will... they've had more time to rest.

I feel really stupid asking this but I'm interested in starting up this routine. I'm wondering if it makes any difference (in some sort of bad way) if I follow this program but instead do it on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The football lifting schedule for summer is pretty dumb imo, and those are the days that I have to go in. If this is a problem, is there any way I can switch around some of the lifts to make it more efficient for this schedule?

You may really want the day of rest between days 2 and 3, but you could probably get away with it, since day 2 is a lighter day. This routine would be fine for football training, since it is a modified version of a workout from a football strength training book...
