I know one of you has or know somebody who has something like this.

So I'm looking to get something for my sister for her upcoming college/ROTC graduation. I remember one of my old company commanders had a thing on his desk that had his name engraved in it and a spots (like a soft felt or something) where you could put rank and branch insignia. Anybody know where I could get something like that?

The timeless standard for military desk is the "Traditional". A 12" solid walnut name block with a chrome or brushed aluminum plastic engraving plate. Rank and branch set on branch colored satin back-ground. Please specify rank and branch.

I have one. It's a tent stake. It has my name and commission school on it. Then I put every unit crest on it, also my promotion ranks.

Speaking of which, I need to get that on my desk :)

My Commander gave me the rank I was pinned with. I thought it was the best gift I received. It was a symbol of me transitioning to being an Officer, and being accepted by the Officer Corps.

    flightschool

is that referring to army aviation? if so, can you describe your daily routine?

i heard through the grapevine that the days start about 0400 and then you have classes out the yang, fly for a couple hours, then more classes...6 days a week.

any truth to that? anyone drop out yet?
