A good friend of mine is getting married and he shoots with a D90. He's always talked about wanting a wide angle lens so I think im gonna get one for him. Can you recommend me a good one? price isnt really an issue as long as its not absurdly expensive :) :wiggle:

This. Got the lens a few weeks ago and love it. Best wide ever.

Tokina is nice, so is the Nikon 12-24 DX lens from the samples I've seen.

the 11-16 hasn't been the best lens ever in regards to flare, but it's hard to avoid flare in a 11mm lens...

It's razor sharp and has almost no optical distortion. the 10-24 is as sharp as marshmallows in the corners at 10, and looks like a fisheye.

    depends on what you want.

I still want a Nikon 10.5mm fisheye, but I wouldn't trade any lens in my arsenal for the 11-16.

(except the 14-24mm 2.8, now that i've moved to FF...)

    I'm looking for a wide-angle lens also.
Was thinking of buying the Sigma 10-20. Any opinions on that lens?

Great lens, as long as you're not shooting low lights. Tokina is the best of the 3rd party ones.

I have one, it's great for what you pay, you do get another 1mm wider than the 11-16 Tokina (if you notice that much :o)
I don't care for the UWA's with lower apertures as I only use it for landscapes, which usually goes along with a tripod.
Depends on what you want it for though.

    I 2nd this.

I use it on both 11mm Crop format and 16mm Full format.

    Incredibly versatile lens.
