Even though it wont do jack might be a good time to let your representives know you dont agree with this bill

Keep Sniper Rifles and “Cop-Killer” Handguns Off Our Streets
Urge Him or Her to Bring SB 2113 to the Floor for a Vote!

    Dear Massachusetts StoptheNRA Member,

Right now, a bill to ban .50 caliber sniper rifles and “cop-killer” handguns in Massachusetts is being held hostage in the State Senate Ways and Means Committee. This delaying tactic is exactly what the NRA asked for -- it wants to stall it there so there will be no vote on the Senate floor. The NRA is so scared of SB 2113 that they don’t even want to give your elected officials the opportunity to vote on it! We need your help today to give this bill some momentum and get it back on track for a full Senate vote.

CLICK HERE TO EMAIL YOUR STATE SENATOR TODAY!

This important legislation was introduced by State Senator Jarrett T. Barrios and cleared its first hurdle earlier this month when it passed favorably out of its first committee, demonstrating our legislators' commitment to ban these dangerous weapons in our Commonwealth.

The .50 caliber sniper rifle is an extremely lethal high-powered weapon of war advertised for its ability to shoot down airplanes and knock out targets up to four miles away. These are not hunting rifles and they have no place in our communities.

The new FiveSeveN concealable handgun is dubbed the “cop-killer” because it fires bullets that can tear right through a police officer’s bulletproof vest. We need legislation to help protect our police officers, not put their lives in jeopardy.

We need your help today to ensure there is a full Senate vote on SB 2113 so that these dangerous killing machines are kept off the streets of Massachusetts.

HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN DO TODAY:

    1. Click Here to Email Your State Senator Today. Urge him or her to: “Contact the Senate Ways & Means Committee to Release SB 2113 to the Floor for a Vote -- Keep .50 Caliber Sniper Rifles and 'Cop-Killer' Handguns Off Our Streets!”

    2. Forward this e-mail to friends, family, and colleagues in Massachusetts.
    3. Click here to contribute to our efforts in Massachusetts and across the country.

For more information on this legislation and how to get involved in the gun violence prevention movement in Massachusetts, contact the Massachusetts Million Mom March Chapters and Stop Handgun Violence.

Working together, we can keep these killing machines from coming to Massachusetts and set an example for other states to follow.

Thank you for standing with us to keep our communities safe.

    Sincerely,
    Your Friends at StoptheNRA.com

Is this just to ban the .50 and the 5-7? Or is there a hidden no-guns-for-anyone-not-even-.22-to-shoot-paper-targets paragraph in there somewhere?

I'm always amazed at the improvements Barrett is making to the 50 BMG. It's gone from being able to take down targets at 1 mile, then 2 miles, now to 4 miles! Pretty soon it will be shooting down satellites and assassinating astronauts on the ISS!

Those crazy .50 cal's.. what will they do next?

I love how they make it sound like that, as soon as you own one of these guns, you're instantly capable of using it to it's full potential.

I could go give Joe Everyman a .50 cal right now, and ask him to shoot at something 1000 yards away.. he wouldn't even come close.

I wonder if they even bother looking at stuff like this. But I guess the terrorists and criminals have a superb grasp of physics and can quickly calculate everything needed to shoot down a plane.

I can't even begin to comprehend how much lead-on you'd have to have to even connect with a plane flying overhead, much less put it in a vital area of the plane..

Not to mention that gravity is going to work against you like a motherfucker.

:werd: you would have to be one hell of a shot to even disable a single engine aircraft let alone multiengine.

That's not true! The brady campaign have a list of like 10 crimes where 50 BMGs were used. Of course 8 of them are "illegal possession of a firearm" and the other two the weapons where possessed by someone who committed a crime. :mamoru:

So, the second amendment was designed for hunting only? :ugh:

If it's not used for hunting, it has no place in our community!!! :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

The stupidity of these people is amazing.

If you can hit targets up to 4 miles away with a .50, then I bet my .22 can shoot 800 yards easily. :joshers:

Jesus I hope never. I'm sure AZ and TX would go to war with the rest of the US to keep our weapons.

Get me the fuck out of this state. I still laugh whenever people bring up the 5-7. CZ52s do a much better job of penetrating armor than the 5-7. I guess CZs don't look scary enough to ban.
