People still skate? I thought that fad ended 10 years ago.

I have a friend who is 20 years old and still thinks he is an "Xtreme roller blader". He still goes to skate parks and stuff, and he is like the oldest person there by like 4 years. I want to punch him.

thats a good point, how does wheel size effect the way a skate handles?

i dont think its size as much as materials. you want the softer stuff for road use.

i've personally got some k2's with abec5 bearings on them and some harder wheels, i havent used them in years but they are comfortable and were really fucking fast

what size shoe do you wear? My buddy skates and his sponsors gives him lots of new skates. He will sell you some if you are the same size.

Yes, it does. Larger diameter wheels will allow you to go faster and get more power with each stride, however they will not handle very well. Small diameter wheels allow for very nimble handling and quick acceleration, but your overall speed will suffer.

If you're not going to be playing hockey, go with large diameter outdoor wheels.

I've got a pair of older K2's, I don't use them much any more but they're certainly good excercise. I'm not sure why there's so much hate directed at rollerbladers, but who gives a shit. I like my K2's, and I also had a pair of Rollerblade brand skates that were okay, but a little more bulky.

Because when someone says "roller blading" it conjures up imagines of gay musclemen in yellow speedo's on Malibu beach skating along the path's.
