WHat do you tell people who are always asking you the same stupid questions. IE: What does it mean (if it has no meaning) What are you doing to do when you are 60 etcetc any other stupid things you get tired of.

I usually say that I will just have more important things to worry about my body when I am old. That or I just say I will look like you...but with tattoos.

    Q: What does it mean?
A: Nothing, its a tattoo. It doesn't have to have any meaning

Q: What are you going to do when you're old?
A: Same thing I'm doing now, getting tattooed and enjoying my life

    Q: Did that hurt?
A: Let me jab you over 10,000 times with needles and you tell me

Q: Why did you do that?
A: Why did you ask me that question? Because you can.

i'm not heavily tattooed, but with the chestpiece i get these questions ~80% of the time. I just answer with a "do you think that over a year of planning/work, x hours of inking, and a lot of money invested were all done without thinking things through? Right."

edit: i also get asked i think partly because of the work, and partly because i'm on the younger end of the spectrum, and obviously incapable of making important decisions

I'm not heavily tattooed yet, but I always tell people it was a big mistake and I regret it. That usually gets a good confused face and no more questions. Not that I mind talking about them, it's just talking to certain kinds of poeple that bothers me (popped A&F collared shirt, jeans with holes, etc...)

Because it's who I want to be. Just because I'm tattooed doesn't mean I'm fucking rude either. I still say please, thank you and yes sir, no sir, etc.

People are idiots and make assumptions.

I usually quote Mark Twain...."Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do".... and besides im going to be even uglier when Im older...I may as well be different colours

 nice quote and very true. My sister and I had talk about this. Shes tattooed too and I'm not heavily tattooed yet. (only one half-sleeve and foot done.) Both figured when we reach 60 range, theres gonna be tons of tattooed old people so who cares. I feel the same way as AB. How I look because of my tattoos are gonna be the last thing on my mind.

I usually just say it doesn't mean anything and because I can. They look at me dumbfounded.

I have tattoos that do mean something to me and others that dont. When people ask about the ones that dont I have no problem telling them that. The ones that do have meaning its not something I enjoy explaining though. Thats where i get stuck.

When people ask about my tattoos that have meaning but I dont like explaining it. Havnt come up with a good reply to those yet.

I'm not heavily tattooed and I get the questions all the time. I answer them the same all the time.

My shoulder tattoo was to test my pain tolerance and the my calf one was done because it kicks ass and represents family, myself and my car. Did it hurt? Meh, a little. What about when I'm 60? shit son, If I live that long I'll look like a rainbow :)

yea, they are text though so its harder to not have any meaning in the words.

'It cant rain all the time' on my chest

    'Fallen' on my ribs

'Would you die for me' mixed in on my back

I get it about my piercings. My GF can nearly recite my scripted response for me if I'm not in the mood.
