I just finished watching Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories, Char's Counterattack, and Gundam F91 (which I've seen several years ago). I'm not really a huge Gundam fan so I'm pretty lost when it comes to all that new crap that's on the air.

I decided to go with the first couple of series (all in the U.C. timeline). Which series should I watch next?

    -Mobile Suit Gundam
    -The 8th MS Team
-Gundam 0080: War In The Pocket
    -Zeta Gundam

    What's good? :dunno:

You have to keep in mind that each one is very different. That's the beauty of Gundam. There are so many series, yes none of them are the same.

-MSG is good, but a tad long for my blood. Plus a lot of the episodes are: :wtf: and filled with useless shit. Try to get the 3 part movie versions if you can. It condenses the series into one ginormous story and cuts out the bullshit.

-08th MS team deals with the ground war on earth, and if you like more conventional warfare, it's for you. It's definately the most military-like. You're a big SPR fan right? If so then you'll probably enjoy this series. Ending is quite :hs:

-0080 takes on a very different approach. It's told through the eyes of a little boy who befriends a Zeon pilot, yet he is also friends with the test pilot for the Gundam NT-1 Alex. Story is character driven.

-I haven't watched Zeta yet (i'm waiting for it to come stateside) But I hear it's the best Gundam series. It's supposed to be very dark and storyline driven. Animation is not much better then MSG.

My suggestion is to watch everything in order. If MSG is too long/repetitive for you, just read up on it or get the 3 part movie version. Then watch 08th Ms, 0080, and finally Zeta. I'd probably just skip ZZ because it's more of a comedy.

My personal favorite is 08th MS. Since it was released in 95/96, the animation is still pretty good and does not look dated. I also enjoy it because I'm a big military buff, and this series captures it the best out of all the others. Beam weapons are rarely used in this series, and it focuses more on conventional weapons. The last few episodes of the series are bad ass.

0083: Stardust Memories would have been fucken perfect if the characters weren't so freaken lifeless. It had great action, incredible space battles, bad ass storyline, yet cardboard characters. :(

    Seed ! = U.C. Timeline

Although it's obvious that a lot of the storyline aspects of Seed is pulled from the Universal Century story.

:werd: The characters had absolutely NO charisma (except for Cima.....she was a wicked woman).

How many times did Kou shout GATO! :ugh:

Nina Purpleton was also pretty one-dimensional.

....and Gato was a watered down Char.

SORRY to bump but I think I'm going with 8TH MS TEAM next.

What do you guys think? :wavey:

Ground based Moblie Suit combat sounds pretty damn interesting to me.
