Will be taking a trip down there for some training. Traveling from Atlanta to Ellijay. From what i can tell it is all on I75, any recommendations for gun shops? Is it legal for items to be purchased from out of staters in georgia?

You will leave I75 and travel up I575 to get to Ellijay. You will pass by Nick's guns and range, Big Woods Goods, and the Bargain Barn on your drive to Ellijay. All of those are within 2-3 mi of the freeway. Actually the last 2 are within .5 mi of the freeway. There is a reason I am so familiar with these three places. ;)

i only goto autrey's armory in fayetteville ga, i've been to just about every shop around atlanta within 30-40 mile range

nick's is pricey but they have reloading stuff, forest park is sketchy as shit and have terrible clientle and range safety, pricey on guns but reloading stuff on hand

bullseye up in gwinett has classIII rentals but the ones i've rented are jam city and they make you use their ammo, lame

georgia marksman is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$, like four poeple went with me and the bill was $180, even brought our own ammo, i was baffled

you should hit creekside, it's an outdoor range on your way down

Creekside firing range is cool but shops, hmm.
Nicks is expensive and they can be dicks. The bargin barn is right off 515 actually (575 turns into 515) and you will be able to pull right in. Not the best selection of pistols and haven't been lately to check on prices. Wal mart in Ellijay still sells rifles  though.
