Ok so I was told by a friend of mine to post my plans and see if I will get "owned" by you guys...

    I am 26 years old, 5'9" and weigh 296LB

As of January 1st I have been to the gym everyday. The minimum I will do is 30 min of cardio and 50 situps - I plan on continuing this plan for a total of 90 days with out missing a single day. I am on the 14th day now and I have lost 9 pounds since I began.

My friend is telling me that I need to rest between but I see no reason to rest considering I am not doing any heavy lifting!!!!

    What do you guys think?

I think you should start lifting. Situps aren't going to burn the fat off your stomach. And you mentioned nothing about your diet.

Working on that but I am not too sure of the lifting plans yet - 3 times a week I work upper body but thats the extent.

Lets just put it this way the 14 days I have been going to the gym are more thant the work outs I have done in the last 3 years combined

As for diet - I don't really eat much - Maybe a protein shake (ISOPURE ZERO CARB) for break fast - sensible lunch IE salad, samon or chicken - apple or two a day and a dinner similar to the lunch - usually eat out - try not to eat 3 hours before sleep

I dont think 30 minutes of cardio and 50 situps a day would be considered overtraining by any stretch of hte imagination.
