Sarasota has nothing.. a city of retirees..

    Drive to Tampa.

Tampa FTW for nightlife. How long are you in town?

35-40 minutes... worth it for something to do if you're bored.

I used to live in Sarasota and drive to and from Tampa daily for work (house in Sarasota, office in Tampa).. Not that bad of a drive.

Me and PCH are sittin Fat Down Souf Dawg. Sarasota is a very nice place though, more relaxing than anything. Go check out Tampa or Orlando.

Siesta Key is a good place to hang out this time of year. Plenty of spring breakers. Don't know where you could train...maybe you could do some work outs on the beach???

If you really want the party scene, anywhere in Ybor City will be your ticket.

The Village on Siesta Key is pretty much the place to be in Sarasota. Daiquiri Deck, Gilligans, Rhino Room, Beach Club, Club Blu, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, etc. But because it's really the only place for us youngins (read: under 55), it gets absolutely PACKED. If you don't mind that sort of thing, you'll have a blast....after you find a place to park that won't tow your car.

There's also Minxx Nightclub on US41 just south of Stickney Pt. I heard it's a nice club but I haven't been there.

Channelside and Ybor in Tampa are the places to be for partying up that way.

And I JUST threw out my 7 free passes to Lifestyle Fitness yesterday. I'd have given them to ya.

Go channelside. Ybor is the party destination of the tourists and ghetto folk alike. Fine if you're looking to get laid, I suppose. Just depends on your target age group.

Channelside is the more "upscale" nightlife destination, but you're limited on where to go.. its more bars. Ybor is lower scale, right next to a project.. but its about 1.5 miles long of bars and nightclubs (over 75, if I remember correctly).
