my computer will read this random "yes" brand and sandisk memory cards but it wont read the kingston one i have. when i look at the cannon powershot under "my computer" for the other cards all the pics and videos come out but the kingston one wont show any pictures, is it possible it was formatted for a mac or something?

Or it's a piece of shit brand that doesn't cooperate with computers.

Put it back in your camera and hook the camera up and try reading it that way.

Your computer doesn't have a place to insert the memory card and read it straight off the card?

If it doesn't, you might be able to buy an external card reader that plugs in.

Don't try opening it with a folder. Use another program, Adobe or whatever the heck you have. Got anything like that?

I haven't even touched a Mac in years, I've got no idea about that.

Go into OTAP and ask, I think you've about exhausted my knowledge on the subject.

cards don't just randomly format to mac or something. your card is probably crap, which happens from time to time. sandisk is the only brand I trust anymore and i've gone through a lot of cards to know.

try putting the card into a card reader and use a recovery software. then trash the card once you get the pics off of it.

    You mean like this?

I'm thinking we're thinking the same thing there. My brain is frazzled from finals though so I'm not sure. :mamoru2:

he said his computer has a built in one, so no need for an external. he just needs to find some recovery software (google it, or search your favorite torrent site :o). if the camera still sees the pics on the card, then they are there and can be gotten off there with the right software. i would just recommend that he trash the card once he gets the pics off of it.

try and change the interface on the camera from mass storage to PTP mode or whatever other interface mode it has... it has helped me with the same situation in the past. You will likely have to load some of the camera manufacturers software on the computer though.

it was actually a problem with wrong drivers for my camera :o

but it wasnt that stupid of a mistake, its a new camera (canon powershot sd750) but for some reason they dont have any WIA drivers on the fucking website!

so i just bought a card reader and it worked, phew!
