is this normal that it's overheating when i first turn on the computer? will it go away eventually? i've checked the heatsink to see if it's on correctly a few times and yet, it's still running hot (85-87 C, 180+ F). it's an amd 64 3200+ processor with a soyo ck8 dragon plus motherboard.

other than the heatsink fan, there's only one additional fan and is relatively small. yeah, i put the thermal compound on the proc and heatsink as well...

your comp is fucking hot as hell. it should never go above 65C unless you super o/c'd it or something like that. take apart your comp and re-do everything. also, this aint the forum to be asking comp questions, nub

the heatsink can be placed in two directions and i've tried both ways with the same result. as for the thermal compound... i scraped off the "pad" after it crashed the first time and put the pastey stuff on.
